Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty and Christoph Green directed this standard-issue music documentary (2009), which follows the rock band Wilco over five nights of an American tour one year prior. Intercut with generous performance footage are shots of rolling landscapes, gatherings of pre-show crowds, and interviews with band members. The directors wisely focus on the music, capturing superb performances that show how Wilco stretches out and thrives live, through the imaginative lead guitar of Nels Cline, the kaleidoscopic drumming of Glenn Kotche, and the soulful singing and magnetic presence of Jeff Tweedy.
