Steve Martin, Bonnie Hunt, Piper Perabo, Tom Welling, and Hilary Duff return in this inert sequel to the 2003 hit about a couple whose work gets in the way of their parenting 12 kids. There’s a discernible lack of enthusiasm from almost everyone involved, and Duff, who’s gone from wholesome to haggard in two short years, is flat-out scary. Added to the mix this time are Eugene Levy, as an overachiever who pits his family against Martin’s at a summer retreat competition, and Carmen Electra, the most winning performer of the bunch, as Levy’s wife. Adam Shankman (The Pacifier) directed. PG, 93 min.
