In this romantic comedy, a diffident Valley Girl (Sara Rue) spends a week in downtown Los Angeles house sitting for the object of her unrequited love (Johann Urb), much to the chagrin of her needy father (Elliott Gould) and brother (Jonathan Chase). Along the way she meets and falls for a Lebanese artist (Haaz Sleiman), who helps her out of her shell. The dialogue brims with platitudes, the plot is predictable to the point of idiocy, and there are more than a few jokes insulting homosexuals and homeless people. Brad Leong, directing a script by sitcom veteran Wendy Kout (Mork & Mindy), shows zero stylistic ambition, framing most shots in the same medium close-up.
