Instead of a credible main character this 1999 button pusher has lots of showy cinematography and generic dread. Surrounded by other comfy breeders, Angie (Radha Mitchell) keeps her fears concerning her pregnancy mostly to herself, though these prove grounded when something terrible happens shortly after she gives birth. The lack of sympathy shown by her friends (and nearly everyone else she comes into contact with) seems almost conspiratorial, but she doesn’t quite notice—until it’s time to wrap.
