Bertrand Blier’s 1976 film Calmos, retitled and extensively reedited by its American distributor. A pimp and a gynecologist (Jean Rochefort and Jean-Pierre Marielle) head for the countryside to escape from women; through Blier’s usual free-floating, Freudian narrative (Going Places, Get Out Your Handkerchiefs), they end up imprisoned in a giant vagina. With Brigitte Fossey and Bernard Blier (Bertrand’s father, and a veteran French character actor).
