Adapted from Michael Shaara’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Killer Angels, writer-director Ronald F. Maxwell’s 1993 made-for-cable (TNT) epic concerns three crucial days during the Civil War, culminating in Pickett’s charge. Among the Confederates are Tom Berenger, Martin Sheen, and Stephen Lang; among the Union soldiers are Jeff Daniels, Sam Elliott, and C. Thomas Howell. The film runs 248 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission.
