Routine gangland drama from Hong Kong, with Cantonese pop star Ekin Cheng as a revered Mafia hit man who botches an assignment in Bangkok, returns to Hong Kong hoping to go straight, and gets tripped up by family obligations and rival gang leaders. Director Jingle Ma’s emotional range seems limited to violence, juvenile humor, and soap (the hero’s gooey relationship with an adorable son); Cheng apparently finds this too exacting and coasts through the film on two expressions, one stoic and the other brooding. In Cantonese with subtitles. 102 min.
