Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, and David Spade reprise their roles as a gang of best bros from the 2010 hit; in this sequel, which Sandler cowrote with Fred Wolf and Tim Herlihy, the guys move their families from LA back to their sleepy hometown. Sandler’s films have always been stupid, but the early stuff (Billy Madison, The Water Boy) is pretty harmless; here the jokes almost always come at the expense of someone else, the kind of needless bullying one expects of a YouTube comment section. Gay caricatures abound, and there are numerous jabs at mental illness—in one scene, they’re even depicted as the same thing. Dennis Dugan directed.
