A lunatic cast energizes this comic fantasy about three old pals (John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson) time-traveling back to the 80s. Disillusioned in middle age, they revisit a ski resort where they used to hang out and find that it’s crumbling as surely as their friendship; when their hotel jacuzzi short-circuits, they’re zapped back to 1986, the year their lives first started going downhill. Coming along for the ride is Cusack’s whip-smart couch-potato nephew (Clark Duke), who’s dismayed to learn his mother was a boozing slut with big hair. The movie sends up various period entertainments–buddy movies, the Back to the Future franchise, and the sort of teen romances that put Cusack on the map–though director Steve Pink offsets the satire with moments of genuine warmth. With Crispin Glover and Chevy Chase.
