With roles that seem tailor-made for Michael Cera and Jonah Hill, this nerd wish-fulfillment comedy reminded me of Superbad, though a more accurate title might be “Sub-Bad.” A sniveling high school valedictorian (Paul Rust) takes advantage of his commencement speech to humiliate all the classmates who treated him badly and proclaim his love for the school’s honey of a cheerleading captain (Hayden Panettiere). Inexplicably, she shows up at his door that night with two more cuties to take him and his dorky, movie-quoting pal (Jack Carpenter) on a ride they’ll never forget. But I already have, so I’ll quit here. Chris Columbus directed. PG-13, 101 min.
