Comedians from Canada, the UK, and the U.S. set off for a stand-up tour of Dubai, Lebanon, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. Led by Ahmed Ahmed, an Egyptian-American actor and comic who also directed this documentary, the performers mainly avoid regional taboos, which weakens the concert segments: prohibited from swearing or talking about sex, politics, or religion, they’re reduced to mild observational humor (although Beirut turns out to be a looser environment). The travelogue sequences indicate how widely Middle Eastern cultures vary, but there are few revealing personal encounters in this well-intentioned but minor film. In English and subtitled Arabic.
