Jeff Wadlow directed this comic-book actioner, the sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s hit Kick-Ass (2010). The story picks up with the titular superhero wannabe (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and his foul-mouthed sidekick, Hit Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz), who’ve inspired a whole flock of masked vigilantes, both good and evil. Sticking to the original’s box-office-busting formula of blood, guts, boobs, and bad words, Wadlow sleepwalks through the material, failing to inject any personality into what’s actually an incredibly disturbing story of pathological teens suffering from a host of serious personality disorders. With Jim Carrey and John Leguizamo.
