The usual Fox 40s period musical, though enlivened by a loan from Columbia—Rita Hayworth, always worth comtemplating in Technicolor. Victor Mature costars as the Gay 90s composer Paul Dreiser (who wrote the title tune, among others); the film is actually based on an obscure biography assembled in ambiguous tribute by Dreiser’s brother, an aspiring novelist by the name of Theodore. With John Sutton, Carole Landis, James Gleason, and Phil Silvers; Irving Cummings directed (1942).
