Zhang Ziyi coproduced and stars in this live-action cartoon, which feels like a cross between a Doris Day vehicle and one of Robert Rodriguez’s Spy Kids movies. Zhang plays an aspiring cartoonist who’s unhappy with her day job and unlucky in love; all this changes when she crosses paths with a dashing secret agent (Leehom Wang), who draws her into the world of international espionage. The movie displays a fair amount of visual invention in its sight gags, stunt choreography, and bright color schemes. It’s trivial stuff on the whole, but inoffensive and never boring. Dennie Gordon (a veteran of American TV) directed. In English and subtitled Mandarin.
