In this computer-animated Dreamworks feature a wily raccoon (given voice by Bruce Willis) dupes an assortment of woodland animals (Garry Shandling, William Shatner, Steve Carell) into raiding the well-stocked larders of their two-legged neighbors. Less philosophical than its source material, a comic strip by Michael Fry and T. Lewis, the movie goes for broad laughs in its send-up of American consumption. The final showdown, in which the critters tangle with security-rigged lawn flamingos and garden gnomes, would have made Rube Goldberg proud. Tim Johnson and writer Karey Kirkpatrick directed.
