Warners decided to remake one of the dumbest and silliest French thrillers of recent years, Nikita (known in the U.S. as La femme Nikita)—about a hardened murderess (played here by Bridget Fonda) offered a reprieve from execution if she takes lessons in femininity and table manners and then goes out to kill wealthy people for the government. Directed by John Badham (Saturday Night Fever) from a script by Robert Getchell and Alexandra Seros; with Gabriel Byrne, Dermot Mulroney, Anne Bancroft, and Harvey Keitel.
