An intriguing selection of experimental videos, starting with Old Wordly, an oddball half-hour video in which Leslie Thornton and Anouk de Clercq recycle footage of 50s belly dancers and German industrial music. Among the other works are Leah Gilliam’s Sapphire and the Slave Girl (1995), inspired by the 1959 British feature Sapphire (a thriller with a racial theme) and Elisabeth Subrin’s dark imaginings about anorexia and depression, Swallow (1995).
