A cringe-inducing flop from producers Peter and Bobby Farrelly (who directed There’s Something About Mary), this gross-out comedy of errors stars Chris Klein and Heather Graham as young lovers who learn that they’re brother and sister. By the time Klein discovers that the bad news is false, Graham is engaged to a corrupt millionaire (Eddie Cibrian), and the hero’s efforts to halt the marriage are repeatedly thwarted by her gold-digging parents. The film has all the trademarks of the brothers’ comedy (e.g., bodily excretions), but the script is weak, and director J.B. Rogers, a Farrelly protege, seems unable to pull off even the most obvious sight gag. With Sally Field, Orlando Jones, and Richard Jenkins. 95 min.
