Griffin Dunne plays a Florida hustler determined to adapt an inspirational novel by another hustler (Dennis Hopper) into a movie, until he meets the other hustler’s assistant (Illeana Douglas), who convinces him to make a gory sex film instead. Adapted by Michael Almereyda (Another Girl, Another Planet) from a satirical play by Howard Korder; executive producer Martin Scorsese reportedly took over the editing and appears in a cameo. Directed by New York painter David Salle; with Rosanna Arquette, Ethan Hawke, John Turturro, and Christopher Walken.
