This lively, highly entertaining 2005 video by Robert Gordon and Morgan Neville captures the unfettered creativity of country music renaissance man “Cowboy” Jack Clement, a singer-songwriter, record producer, and wannabe filmmaker (he produced the 1972 flop Dear Dead Delilah). In addition to some clever animation and interviews with folks like George Jones, Kris Kristofferson, Charlie Pride, and John Prine, the documentary draws extensively on Clement’s own home movies and videos, with unguarded footage of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and even Bono. The video may not be the definitive biography of Clement, but it sure provides a strong sense of the man. 58 mins.
