Helga Reidemeister’s recent West German documentary focuses on the Berlin Wall as a way of perceiving the various social factions currently dividing the city. Among the Berliners interviewed are Reidemeister’s mother (who relates stories of the 30s), a songwriter, bricklayer, scrap-metal worker, and a rubble picker in a cemetery. Reidemeister will be present to discuss this film, which is receiving its Chicago premiere, after the 6:00 show.
