Ashton Kutcher taps into his dark side for this sleazy, cynical drama (2009) about a boyish LA gigolo who makes a science of bedding wealthy women. The first half of the movie gets its energy and attitude from his jaded hipster voice-over as he rockets through some athletic sex with the always game Anne Heche, playing a 40-ish lawyer who supports him as long as he plays by her rules. But the film becomes unintentionally funny when he falls for another hustler (Margarita Levieva) with even less conscience, their grand passion leading to ludicrous behavior and soap-opera dialogue. David Mackenzie (Young Adam, Mister Foe) directed.
