Among the features screening are: Finding Fela (Sat 8/16, 2:30 PM), a biographical documentary of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, directed by Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room); God Help the Girl (Mon 8/18, 7:30 PM), a Glasgow-set musical directed by Belle and Sebastian singer Stuart Murdoch; Good Vibrations (Sat 8/16, 9:30 PM), a drama about a Belfast punk who reacts to the political strife of the 70s by opening a record store; Rubber Soul (Sun 8/17, 7:30 PM), a Beatles documentary drawn from John Lennon’s epic interviews for Rolling Stone in 1970 and Playboy in 1980; and The 78 Project Movie (Sat 8/16, 7 PM and Sun 8/17, 3 PM), documenting an effort to record early American music on old-fashioned lacquer discs.
