This 1999 Reservoir Dogs knockoff got a second lease on life when its tortured production was chronicled in the jaw-dropping documentary Overnight. A macho bloodbath with a lot of juvenile humor and fake Catholic mysticism, Saints stars Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus as Irish brothers in South Boston who, inspired by a priest’s sermon, resolve to rid the city of “evil men” and begin staging elaborate slaughters of underworld figures. Billy Connolly plays a fearsome assassin who’s arrived from the Emerald Isle, and Willem Dafoe is a gay FBI agent who struts around crime scenes in a four-button jacket. Troy Duffy directed his own script. R, 110 min.
