Sibling directors Cristian and Cortney Macht made this low-budget documentary in the hope of “destroying the stereotypes that are all too often related to Star Wars fans.” Thus we meet a professor specializing in “the sociology of Star Wars” (who testifies that fans have “done pretty good in terms of earning academic credentials”) and a hot babe who rhapsodizes about the series as she lounges before a glowing fireplace in a low-cut blouse. Compelling as this evidence may be, it’s no match for the movie’s dorky cavalcade of grown men and women whose lives are centered on plastic collectibles from a juvenile sci-fi franchise. True believers will love this; infidels will variously be amused, bored, or driven mad. 86 min.
