Virginia Madsen stars as a harried mother who chauffeurs her cancer-stricken teenage son (Kyle Gallner) on eight-hour road trips from their home to his treatment center. Hoping to make things easier on the boy, she and her recovering alcoholic husband (Martin Donovan) buy an old house in upstate Connecticut, closer to the hospital, but after they move in, the boy begins to have disturbing visions of the former occupants. This atmospheric horror feature has some suspenseful moments early on, as shadows flit across the screen or mysterious figures suddenly appear, and eerie cinematography by Adam Swica (Diary of the Dead).
