Shot in just three days, this raw, unflinching first feature (2005) by Chilean writer-director Sebastian Campos Watt takes place over Easter weekend, as an architecture student and his new girlfriend join his parents in a well-appointed beach house overlooking the ocean. After the mother leaves to attend to a friend’s personal crisis, the young couple drop ecstasy with some friends and later get drunk with the father. A handheld camera doggedly tracks the escalating turbulence as their debauch turns into a series of betrayals and angry confrontations. 99 min.
