Three friends try to help their buddy lose his virginity, following him around with a video camera and recording his every move as they egg him on in increasingly ludicrous situations. Writer-directors Huck Botko and Andrew Gurland, who scripted the horror mockumentary The Last Exorcism, persuasively make this look like a no-budget video chronicling the exploits of real people. The movie contemporizes teen-sex comedies like Porky’s and American Pie: when the witless nerd gets caught with his proverbial pants down, the footage ends up on YouTube with an astonishing number of hits.
