Director Byron Haskin has a small cult following, and at least two of his films—War of the Worlds and The Naked Jungle—have something to recommend them. This 1949 feature might too: it’s a twist on Bluebeard, with Lizabeth Scott as a literal-minded femme fatale. Her victims include the eminently slayable Don DeFore and Dan Duryea.
