Based on a chick-lit novel by Chicagoan Karyn Bosnak, this grating romantic comedy stars Anna Faris as an unemployed single in Boston whose bad luck with men can be attributed to too much alcohol and too little sense. After she reads in a magazine that women who’ve had sex with 20 or more men will never marry, she realizes to her horror that she’s slept with 19. Chris Evans plays the womanizing neighbor she enlists to locate her old boyfriends, in the hope that one of them will turn out to be Mr. Right after all. Typical of the movie’s double standard is the fact that she refers to herself as a “whore” while her male pal is supposed to seem appealing because he drops his trousers early and often. Mark Mylod directed; with Zachary Quinto, Anthony Mackie, Martin Freeman, and Andy Samberg.
