This is the perfect place to bring a second date. I usually do coffee or lunch for the first date. I’ve been around the world, and I have yet to find a more romantic or delicious spot than here. Yes, it was awfully romantic watching the world float down the Mekong River from the rooftop bar at the Foreign Correspondents Club in Phnom Penh while sipping bubbly and devouring Death by Chocolate. Yes, downing my apres-ski champers beside the burner flame under the chocolate fondue after a day of skiing in Zermatt, Switzerland, was wonderful. And in London, where everything is “lovely,” I adored the pears in cassis and champagne with a chaser of chocolate creme anglaise at Harvey Nichols’s Fifth Floor Restaurant. I’ve had dessert and champagne in 67 countries, and this place still takes the chocolate cake–with these massive strawberries no less! I went to the chocolate exhibit at the Field Museum and the sign said, “Chocolate contains a naturally occurring brain chemical called phenylethylamine, also known as the ‘Love Chemical.'” Where else can you get 120 champagnes and a healthy dose of phenylethylamine?
