Noisy Chicago indie-rock trio Geronimo! announced last year that they’d be calling it quits in early 2015, and to Gossip Wolf’s dismay, they’re staying true to their word. It looks like they’re taking their last live leap on Sat 3/28, playing a show at Beat Kitchen with Meat Wave, Foul Tip, Vaya, and Velocicopter. Next week Geronimo! will release a farewell EP, Buzz Yr Girlfriend: Vol. 4—Why Did You Leave Me?, via Brooklyn label Exploding in Sound. A small-run cassette is available for preorder on the label’s Bandcamp page.

Lifestyle shop the Silver Room, a Wicker Park staple, is saying good-bye to its gentrified neighborhood after more than 17 years. The store isn’t closing, though—after its final day on Sat 3/28, owner Eric Williams will reopen it in Hyde Park on Thu 4/2. Before the Wicker Park shop goes dark, it hosts a two-day party with an impressive lineup of DJs, including Dave Mata of Impala Sound and Jesse de la Peña. Williams also promises “a few surprises.” The event runs from 6 to 11 PM on Fri 3/27 and from noon to midnight on Sat 3/28.

Notorious pop-up party Boiler Room returns to Chicago to honor Frankie Knuckles with RSVP-only shows on Mon 3/30 and Tue 3/31 (the latter a year to the day after the Godfather of House passed away). The first concert features Gene Farris, DJ Hyperactive, the Black Madonna, Jamie 3:26, Mike Dunn, and Andrew Emil; the second, at Smart Bar, includes Derrick Carter, Michael Serafini, Alan King, and Elbert Phillips. Spots on the RSVP list are hard to come by (and the location of the first party is secret for now), but you can watch the fun live at boilerroom.tv.

Chicago hardcore heavies Harm’s Way have posted to Facebook that their tour van was robbed on March 17 in Dallas, Texas. Thieves made off with the band’s cash, IDs, phones, laptops, iPads, and more. Fans can help via PayPal at hatexforce@gmail.com.
