Taste of Randolph Street celebrates the West Loop’s restaurant and arts scenes this weekend on Randolph from Peoria to Racine. As usual, some of the neighborhood’s favorite restaurants (including BellyQ, Wishbone, and Publican Quality Meats) will be selling food, but the best part of the three-day fest might be its three music stages—the West Stage, the East Stage, and the DJ Dance Stage. On Fri 6/14, music begins at 6 PM; headlining the West Stage is indie-rock sorta-supergroup Divine Fits (featuring members of Wolf Parade, Spoon, and the New Bomb Turks), after locals JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound and Great Divide. Brooklyn “disco orchestra” Escort headlines the East Stage, and funky locals the Heard and BS Brass Band open. Music starts at noon on Sat 6/15, and the West Stage lineup includes electronic indie rockers Bear in Heaven, the girl-group-inspired Radiation City, and California pop band Trails & Ways, with Welsh band the Joy Formidable headlining; Michigan’s Greensky Bluegrass headline the East Stage, with support from LA’s American Royalty, local New Orleans-flavored R&B outfit Swamp Heat, and western-flavored indie-rock duo Escondido, among others. On Sun 6/16 the music starts at noon again, and on the West Stage it ends with cinematic pop band Milo Greene, after indie-folk group Lord Huron, local Americana band Van Ghost, Matrimony, and more; the East Stage is headlined by English funk and fusion outfit the New Mastersounds, with openers including the Main Squeeze (bringing more funk from Indiana), Urbana’s Sun Stereo, and blue-eyed soul singer Jamie Lono. The music on the DJ Dance Stage starts at 6 PM all three days; the headliners are Zebo on Friday, an Escort DJ set on Saturday, and My Boy Elroy on Sunday. There are also afterparties at Bottom Lounge (Friday and Saturday) and City Winery (all three nights), where the music includes instrumental Zeppelin cover band Bustle in Your Hedgerow, Brooklyn club-music trio Savoy, and a DJ set from Ladyhawke. The fest wraps up at 10 PM each day; it’s all ages and admission is a $10 suggested donation. For full lineups and more info, see Fairs & Festivals listings by day, call 773-665-4682, or visit
