To the editors:

Before reading your March 31 mayoral campaign coverage [“The Fuel of a New Machine” and “What’s This Election About?”], I thought each of the two viable candidates was worse than the other. Learning from David Moberg that Daley “sees eye to eye with” the “mainstream business community”–and from Doug Cassel that Evans “reflect[s] the interests of poor and working people”–helped me make my choice.

The only solution to poverty is economic growth; penalizing success in order to subsidize failure is a policy of “equality in misery.” I voted for Daley.
