To the editors:
Tell Ron Weslow I’ll buy him a super transfer any time [“The Happiest Guy in the Whole CTA,” July 29]. Chicago has at least two people who really like the CTA! Maybe more, as one third of the households in this city do not have a car. I haven’t owned a car for two and a half years. At $100 a month for transportation, you won’t catch me complaining. My brother shells out 7 or 8 times that for a Buick, a Honda, and suburban “convenience.” You also won’t catch me nervous. I’m white, and I have ridden the Lake Street el many times past 11 PM and never had a problem.
