What is it about Catholics that makes you mock our religion with impunity [“Papal Makeover,” June 21]? Is there something about the Constitution or the First Amendment or the free exercise of religion that you don’t understand? The blatant blasphemy of this cartoon is both appalling and disgusting and is a grave insult to God and to all Catholics.
Your apology for this cartoon is in order. Be it known that I am engaged in a campaign aimed at motivating Catholics in the Chicago area to protest this blasphemy.
