To the editors:

Phil Krone (Reader 7/14/89) is too handicapped from having started at the top with Harry Truman . . . and been there ever since . . . to accomplish anything significant in this life, until making the most of the chivalry that is in him, he takes up the cause of the preponderant ridership of women dependent on the CTA, and succeeds where so many good men have failed, by dropping down to the bottom and staying there for as long as it takes to feel at home,–then, employing his extraordinary talents to bring everybody up with him!!

The surface of life . . . especially at the top, is a mighty fine place to be, but we’re cheating ourselves, if we don’t bring everybody up there with us!

Enjoy a thoughtful August!
