While the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation’s plan for Sunday Parkways sounds promising [“Where Would Jesus Park?” by Tasneem Paghdiwala, June 22], they never had a shot at being first in the United States with this sort of thing; since the early 80s, Massachusetts’s Department of Conservation and Recreation has closed off a substantial stretch of Memorial Drive along the Charles River to autos on Sundays from early spring to mid-autumn.
