I’m going to ignore most of Kelly Kleiman’s hysterically PC interpretation of Alice in Wonderland (Satire is lost on children? Someone better tell the Muppets) [“Adventures in Pedophilia,” April 18] and just say that there is no historical evidence that Lewis Carroll was a pederast. I haven’t seen the play in question, so if there’s a creepy guy named Lewis in it, fine, but that’s no reason to slander the dead. And if Ms. Kleiman truly thinks that the Alice books are not fit for children, she ought to have her head examined. Most of the kids I know prefer imagination and humor to academic pedantry in their choice of reading material. Most of the adults too.
