The his/her problem was solved in 1986 [The Straight Dope, February 19]. I did it. The solution appeared in the Sun-Times, a copy of which is enclosed. [McDaniel proposed that “omner” be used as either the nominative, objective, possessive, or reflexive pronoun.]

“Omner,” of course, is in such common usage that it’s on the lips even of CTA riders and Bears quarterbacks. I’m surprised you have not heard it. Now you have.
