Dear Reader,

Classic, biting satire, Fred Camper’s “Original Spin” (10 March issue). I am so jealous that I didn’t think of the concept first, of creating a totally imaginary Chicago “Artist” to pound home all the cliches:

–young male, poor

–SAIC grad! Yeah!

–from dysfunctional family

–debating whether to move to New York

–totally derivative artwork, but “favorably reviewed” and academically lauded for its deft postmodern references (that ‘Post-it’ painting! Pure genius!!!)

–was in a band

Who says Chicago is 2nd or 3rd rate? Reader kicks ass!
