December 12, 11:40 AM, 2900 block of East 81st. Burglary. Man broke into house, brought out electronic equipment, and stacked it in front yard. He then left to get car. Neighbor called police, who sat on pile of equipment waiting for man to return. When he did, they arrested him.
December 12, 9 PM, 1600 block of West Irving Park. Robbery. Two teenagers entered Christmas tree lot, pointed gun at attendant, pushed him down, and demanded money. Vendor said he had none. Teenagers fled.
January 1, 2:19 PM, 1800 block of West Melrose. Noncriminal incident involving property. Man found “filthy green bag” outside front door and called police. Bomb and arson squad arrived and determined that bag contained dirty clothes. Man disposed of bag.
January 2, 1:55 PM, 1700 block of West Lawrence. Public indecency. Man entered Dunkin’ Donuts and asked for free coffee. Employees said no. According to police reports, man then “whipped out his semi-limp penis” and demanded “free sex.” When employees refused, man began urinating on floor. He fled to CTA bus, refused to pay fare, and was arrested. –Neal Pollack
