May 13, 11:30 AM, 5500 block of South Harper. Confidence game. Two women claiming to be from Trinidad approached third woman on street, saying they had found several thousand dollars in envelope. They asked woman if she wanted to share money. She said yes and withdrew $4,000 from bank to show her “good faith” in deal. First two women went into another bank saying they needed to talk to their attorney about the money while third woman waited outside. They never returned.

May 24, 11 PM, 4500 block of North Rockwell. Robbery. Two men, one with Doberman, one with gun, stopped teenage girl on street and asked her for money and jewelry. She said she had no money and that her jewelry was fake. Men asked her to remove gym shoes instead. One robber said, “Have a nice day,” and they fled with her shoes.

May 25, 11 PM, 5100 block of North Cicero. Burglary. Man entered taqueria and asked to use bathroom. He went to back of restaurant. A few minutes later, employees heard loud noise. They ran to investigate and saw man fleeing out back, carrying three ten-pound bags of meat.

June 1, 5 AM, 6500 block of West Addison. Burglary. Neighbor heard man breaking locks off shed next door and called police officer who lived in house. Officer went to investigate, discovered burglar, and arrested him.
