Dear editor:

I just read Mr. Podmajersky’s letter to the editor [May 30] in response to your earlier article on his sailing escapades [May 23].

I don’t understand his position. He has taken his gripe outside of the rules he agreed to play by. This is the same thing as if a baseball, football, or basketball player went to court to sue an umpire or referee for a bad call.

This action would be unacceptable behavior in professional sports and is totally unacceptable in amateur sports.
