To the editors:

Regarding the article on social investing [“Capitalism With a Conscience,” April 7], I find it curious and suspicious that the pro-militaristic nuclear-powered brokers are expending so much time and energy to convince social investors that not only will our social-conscious investing make absolutely no difference, but that only nuclear-powered investors will profit from investing. Are we really supposed to believe that brokers are in business because of their compassion for humanity? What of their investors, who should be raking in the money because of we foolish, naive social investors?
