To the editors:

Now, I’m no constitutional scholar, so let me see if I’ve got this straight: under the Supreme Court’s Miranda decision, police are required to inform someone they’ve arrested of his/her constitutional rights; under the recent Court decision upholding the Administration’s rules for federally funded family planning clinics, physicians are forbidden to tell women about their constitutional rights [Hot Type, May 31]. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you. If you cannot afford a family planning clinic that isn’t federally subsidized, tough luck.
