In “The Police Torture Scandal: A Who’s Who” [June 16] I inadvertently gave short shrift to two other journalists when describing the history of the torture allegations. In 1989 Rob Warden, of Northwestern’s Center on Wrongful Convictions, then editor of Chicago Lawyer, and journalist Mary Ann Williams first reported that torture had occurred at Area Two. In 1990 the Reader showed that the torture had been an ongoing enterprise. I’m sorry I wasn’t clearer about which details we reported first.
