FOBAB defeated the Reader‘s Beer and Metal correspondent this year, but several deserving Chicago breweries tasted sweet victory.
Highlights include the first Illinois appearance of Firestone Walker’s Helldorado barleywine and a one-off apricot sour from Side Project called La Fosse.
The 214 entries at this year’s FOBAB included beers aged in gin and Tabasco barrels, in what I’m pretty sure was a first for the festival.
